Library and Documentation Centre
The Library and Documentation Centre is an important unit of Uttarakhand Public Service Commission. Its main objective is to facilitate access to literature on law and Constitution, service matters, various acts and latest Government orders.
The Re-Sources
The stock and services of the library are directed mainly towards Hon. Members, officers, staff and subject experts/educationists.
Books / Collections
The present collection of the library is 7964 documents including books, tables, CD-ROMs, atlases, maps & research journals etc.
It stocks reference books, books on service matters, matters relating to the constitution, government orders and other matters of general interest with which the commission is concerned. The collection is classified under various topics like Computer, Psychology, Religion, Philosophy, Education, Economics, Political Science, Law, Public Administration, International Relations, Financial Handbooks, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Zoological Sciences, Accounting, Management, Environment & Ecology, Animal Husbandry and Literature.
In the reference shelf the books like Encyclopedia, Gazetteers, various Law Acts of State & Centre, Dictionary, Thesaurus and valid documents of the Government are available.
Library Automation
The library and documentation centre has established a well automated system with the help of e-Granthalaya software developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC). The software provides all kinds of features require automating the in house activities as well as library services.
A separate dedicated server is functioning for providing library services. Library services are available on LAN network, its url is http://ukpsclibrary/opac .
Periodicals & Newspapers
There are 70 magazines/periodicals & journals and 13 newspapers of which six in Hindi & seven in English are subscribed on annual basis.

Lending services
The lending service is only available to the acting staff of the Public Service Commission.
News Paper Clipping Service
The library is currently providing newspaper clipping service. Thirteen newspapers are scanned daily and the cuttings are provided for reference.
