Details of important achievements, during the period under review, are given below.
1.Hon’ble Chairman Nominated as Member of Standing Committee Shri S.K. Das, IAS (Retd.), the present Chairman of the Commission has been nominated as Member of the Standing Committee, constituted by the National conference of all PSCs of India. Hon’ble Chairman participated in the meeting of Standing Committee at UPSC New Delhi on 16 Sept., 2008.
2.Budget Allotment for Examination Building Commission faces difficulties to conduct various examinations due to non existence of its own examination building. An amount Rs. 768.13 lakhs has now been sanctioned by the Government for construction of examination building for the Commission. This amount has been deposited with DCL, PWD Haridwar. Construction Work of Examination Centre Building has started, which will cater to the need of 2100 candidates at a same time.
3.Increasing Honorarium of Examiners Honorarium of examiners has been increased by GO No.259/ XXX(2)/2009 dated 02 March, 2009.
4.Launch of Website – Website www.gov.ua.nic.in/ukpsc has been launched by the Commission on 22 July, 2008. All the advertisements, examination results, other notifications & RTI Manual comprising 17 points, can be accessed through the website. This has greatly facilitated dissemination of information to the candidates.
5.AnswerKey on the Website – The answerkeys of optional papers of all the examinations conducted by the Commission are posted on the Commission’s website www.gov.ua.nic.in/ukpsc. Objections are invited from the candidates within a stipulated time frame. Examination results are prepared after reasonable settlement of objections received.
6.Computerisation – The computerisation of Commission’s office was proposed to be undertaken by M/S Hiltron. The Government had provided an amount of Rs. 1,97,42,966.00 to Hiltron for the purpose. Only SRS has been prepared by M/S Hiltron and the Project has been inordinately delayed. The Government has been asked to handover the work of computerisation to NIC, to avoid further delay. The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission presently stepping forward with computerization for which Govt of Uttarakhand has sanctioned Rs. 1.97 Crore.
